I can get my car washed for $9 at the gas station, why should I pay more?
Whether it’s $9 at the gas station, $19 at the local car wash emporium or $25 from a “detailer” advertising on Craiglist, we know you have a lot of options when choosing how to care for your vehicle. Rather than disparage the our competition, let’s discuss what we do and what makes us different.
- We start by turning our attention to the interior of your car. We remove all the mats first and vacuum the entire car very thoroughly. That means moving the seats all the way forward and back to completely vacuum under the seats, along the edges of the seats and door sills and between the seats and center console. We also vacuum all loose debris from the cup holders, door pockets and door grabs.
- We vacuum all the seating surfaces very thoroughly, including pushing down on the seats to separate the seams and get the debris that finds its way there.
- We thoroughly vacuum the carpeted mats.
- If the vehicle has rubber mats, we scrub them clean and rinse them with the pressure washer, then allow them to dry while we finish the car.
- We thoroughly wipe down the entire interior, making certain to not just “wipe down”, but remove any spills and gunk that has dried on the surface of your car. We wipe out cup holders, pockets and coin trays to remove any spills and debris as well.
- We clean the wheels and tires with specialty products before we start on the exterior. The wheels are cleaned by hand with a variety of brushes to remove as much brake dust and dirt as possible before we wash the car.
- We treat the front of the vehicle (grill, bumper, headlights, etc) and the mirrors with a bug remover.
- We hand wash the vehicle using wash mitts that only touch the painted surfaces and glass.
- We rinse the entire vehicle with spot free water.
- We hand dry the up facing surfaces with towels only used for drying clean cars. Once the majority of the water has been removed, we use air to dry out the cracks and crevices, mirrors, door handles, etc. We then go over the vehicle with towels to remove the remaining water.
- We clean and dry the door jambs.
- We dress the tires with a water based product that dries to a light gloss and won’t sling as you drive.
- We clean the windows inside and out with an ammonia free cleaner.
This is a pretty complete overview of our Basic Hand Wash. If you book a higher end service, these services are expanded upon.
As you can see, even our Basic Hand Wash is very thorough. This is not a 30 or 45 minute job. Our higher end services are even more extensive. The reality is our Basic Hand Wash is more expensive than some of your other options, but not as expensive as it should be. We have taken the stance of charging the minimum of what it’s worth to make our services available to a greater number of customers.
